2023 might be the first year SMR LAX will be taking the field to complete, but this club was born on a cool Spring day outside a gym in the parking lot and a Camero. 

Coach Hardy had no lacrosse experience, playing or coaching, but was about to start coaching a first year middle school girls lacrosse team. After the parents meeting he tried to catch Coach Reo, who also had no lacrosse coaching or playing experience. He was able to catch him, however, the story almost ended there as Coach Hardy smudged Coach Reo's fancy new Camero. 

Coach Reo drove away in his dirty car stating he was not interested in coaching a sport he new nothing about. Apparently he was a baseball guy. . . A few days later Coach Reo showed up to watch a practice. It was clear to him he was as qualified to coach this sport as Coach Hardy was. 

It didn't take long for these two guys to fall in love with the sport. Since day 1 they have focused on making lacrosse a great experience for the athletes and have had tremendous success. Focusing on the well being of the athletes and their individual skill development has proven to have great results.
